My Favorite Muscle….THE MIND!

Goal1 300x225 My Favorite Muscle....THE MIND!YOUR MIND IS THE MISSING PIECE OF THE PUZZLE

The muscle between your two ears is the first muscle you should consider getting in shape before you decide to start counting calories, jogging a mile, or talking to a personal trainer.  I can’t begin to tell you how many emails I get and how many conversations I have with people who don’t think they have what it takes to be successful at a fitness goal.  My thing is this, think about one of your accomplishments you’re so proud of or received an award for. It could be graduating from High School, College, Law or Med School.  It could be learning a new language or mastering a musical instrument.  Whatever it may be, it took you – making up your mind that you were going to complete that curriculum, mispronounce a thousand words before you said it right, and play many broken tunes before sounding decent.

So, why do people give up on themselves when it comes to their health and well being?  You guys and gals are smart, very good question!

Let’s refer back to the student of academics, the person learning the new language, and the musician.goal setting 274x300 My Favorite Muscle....THE MIND! Guess what all three have in common?  You guess it; they all have the “End Goal in Mind”. Repeat after me, “The END GOAL in MIND!!” This tune should be on your ipod so that it rings like a song in your ears.

I really need you to understand how important goal setting is and just how powerful writing your goals down can be.

I’m sure there are hundreds of books on the shelf at bookstores that focus on goal setting. I’m a simplistic guy and I want to keep it simple for you.  For example:  If you want to lose 5” off your waist and weigh 20lbs. lighter.  The first thing to do isn’t to pick up a dumbbell and start doing arm curls but rather reach for a pencil and paper to write down your goal(s), the realistic timeline you’re giving yourself to complete it, and the vehicle that’s going to make it possible for you to get there.  That vehicle can be a combination of things.  It can consist of a nutrition plan, workout schedule, workout buddy or personal trainer to hold you accountable.

Upon wakening each day, always keep, “The END GOAL in MIND!!”  The more you dwell on your goals the more compliant you’ll be. How do you know where you’re going if you don’t know the destination?!

Goals birth energy and desire.  Excuses have no room or place to inhabit because you are always thinking positive and never looking to quit until the goal is reached.  Once you establish in your subconscious mind that you are going to the finish line, it will register and you will experience a force and drive greater than ever.  I need you to read this slowly, your subconscious mind guides your behavior.

quite a road block 300x211 My Favorite Muscle....THE MIND!Yes, I’m fully aware of the obstacles that try and block your path. Guess what, you have three choices:

1.) You go around it!

2.) You climb over it!

3.) You Go Through it!

Me myself, I like number three because you destroyed the obstacle. Notice, giving up is not an option!
Now go make me and yourself proud by staying focused and achieving your goal.  As always, if you need any help don’t hesitate to call or email me.

Leave a comment below and let me know if you found this post helpful and tell which choice you’re going to choose when an obstacle is presented to you.

Jessica – You’re welcome. Just remember, we all fall short of a goal. But know that ultimately, you have the choice to decide how long you want to be on the ground.

You’ve been losing a ton of weight…can’t wait to see your testimonial.

Always move forward, it doesn’t matter the pace.
