5 Ways to Kill Late Night Cravings (video)
5 Ways to Kill Late Night Cravings
Let’s face it, sometimes despite all of your healthy intentions — you just can’t make cravings go away.
Or can you?!

Even if you pass up a plate of freshly baked cookies at the office, by 9:00 PM you are ready to hold the little Keebler elves for ransom until you get a hot cookie. Rather than giving in to the craving (and risk imprisonment for kidnapping!) why not try a different approach?
If late night munchies are your downfall, you can win if you deploy these few tricks like a Security Forces
member(Yes, that’s me in the pic….I’m gonna help you shoot down your cravings). We have all heard the “brush your teeth” trick to change what your taste buds may be craving, but I know that doesn’t always work — I have been guilty of thinking, “Oh, I can brush them again before I go to bed” — but how about this time after brushing your teeth you apply some whitening strips?
Not only are you unable to eat, regardless of how loudly the cravings are shouting to you – you also get the benefit of whiter teeth. The evening is the time of day that tempts many of us. It is so easy to open a bag of chips, have some popcorn or even some candy to munch on. Well, you can’t munch on ANYTHING if your teeth are coated in bleach and plastic! Make this your new motto:
YOUR TEETH GET WHITE, WHILE YOUR THIGHS GET TIGHT!
Your pearly whites are white enough and you don’t need this trick but could use another tool?
Try changing what you munch on when you have a bingeing episode. For example, you may be a person who, on occasion, eats everything in sight late at night. For you, I would recommend trying to stick with ONLY raw veggies as your allowed foods. That way, you aren’t trying to reinvent who you are and what you do, but you aren’t doing much damage to your weight loss progress.
IF YOU EAT IT RAW, YOUR FAT WILL THAW!
Another great way to keep cravings at bay is to do abdominal crunches. When your abs are engaged, firm and fit, they serve as a great tool to keep the munchies down. Think of it as a natural stomach stapling!
WORK YOUR ABS AND YOUR APPETITE WILL BE FAB! Or CALL CC “THE ABDOMINATOR”! lol
Still munching?! Try putting on a beauty mask. One of the types that dry and harden/tighten as you wear them. It is hard to chew or even open your mouth with these on — and just like your teeth being whiter, this will make your face healthier. Just remember to stay indoors because if someone sees you, they may mistake you for being “The Thing” from “Fantastic Four”.;)
APPLY THE MASK, YOU’RE BE THIN AS A FLASK!
Or if these mottos aren’t enough to get you past your cravings try this final motto and make it your mantra:
IF YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS DONE, YOU WILL KEEP GETTING WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS GOTTEN!
Quit giving in to cravings and start getting the results you desire!

You’re welcome Renee. Make sure you don’t whiten your teeth too much because you run the risk of weakening your enamel. Glad you liked it.
By the way, Great job on those pushups! You’re arms were feeling like noodles but you finished.
Talk to you soon

Hey C.C.!!!
Yes, I STILL READ YOUR BLOG, even in Auburn!!
Anyway, I love the idea of the face mask!!! I’m not a big “muncher,” but every now and then I do get those cravings so I think I’m going to try your mask idea next time to see how it works!
Hope you are doing great!!!
Much love,
Adrienne
I am going to try the whitening strips!! Question, which is better if I HAVE to eat a few chips..Sun chips or baked lays.
- Adrienne!! War Eagle!! Glad to hear from you! Glad you’re still following the blog. You’re still part of the family so if you need any help with your health/fitness goals, don’t hesitate to email me @ cc@ccmatthews.com
– Hey Anna Marie!! Both of those are okay. The most important thing to keep in mind is the serving size. So, instead of eating out of the bag…grab a serving out of the bag and put the bag away. That way you’re not sitting there munching and before you know, an entire bag is empty and you’ve eaten 4 servings. Hope that helps.
This is a good blog, it encouraged me to set the Keebler elves free with all their limbs in tact (sniff sniff). J/K
I’m a rare girl, I don’t have a sweet tooth and I don’t kill over chocolate. My weakness is cheese so I tend to have a nightly snack of cheese and TLC Kashi crackers, at 2am. I have learned to keep the cheese out of the house to decreases temptation.
My little saying is “If you eat it to late, it goes to your waist”. (You can have that one for a small fee.)
I love the web site, very informative and entertaining…great sense of humor.
I will try the crunches the next time my stomach wakes me at 2am.
Beauty mask?

Roll Tide!
Thanks! I’m going to the grocery store tomorrow and this along with the other videos helps me tremendously.
Thanks for the tips on helping “shoot down the cravings”! I am always up late studying,so this really helped me. I think I going to try the crunches and see how that works, or maybe even the mask while I do the cruches!!!

I have a motto:
When you eat something that you know you shouldn’t have just remember: A MOMENT ON THE LIPS BUT A LIFETIME ON THE HIPS!
Love the videos ! Thanks for all the info! I have a motto: HIT THE MAT AND BURN SOME FAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ Laura W. – Thank you! Glad you enjoy the blog. As far as the cheese. If I were you, I would go with fat-free or low-fat cheese and that way you’re saitisfied without the added saturated fat that’s in regular cheese. Let me add this: If you’re stomach is waking you up at 2am you’re not eating enough throughout the day. It never fells, if you do not eat enough throughout the day, you’re going to crave something sweet or salty that night. Make sure you’re eating small frequent meals throughout the day and that should combat the late night snacking.
@ Kris – I can’t wait to see the Auburn Tigers bench press Alabama elephants. lol War Eagle!!
@ Renee – You’re welcome! Don’t let me see you over by the cupcakes. I keep dumbells in my pocket….we’ll workout right there in the store. Intercom: “Workout on aisle 3!” LOL
@ Marketta – With you being in the Army, I know you’re probably a marksman. If I miss, you’ll hit it. But deep down inside, I know you wish you would joined the Air Force. I won’t tell anyone. lol Seriously though, thanks for what you do for our country.
@ Melissa – Very, very, funny! I just pictured someone putting a cookie on their lips and the hips start to spread. I like it. Thanks for sharing.
@ Leslie – Sounds great! It almost sounds like it could be a song or something. lol I’ll call up a DJ and you bring the microphone. We’re gonna make this a Hit! lol Thanks for sharing.
36-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ Marc – You just made your workout 36x harder! Congrats!! I’m gonna make sure I wear an Auburn shirt to our next session. Don’t try to cancel because “Fitness on Wheels” will come and get you! LOL War Eagle!!
Eagles always rise above the storms, elephants tend to wonder off into the swamps …. Gator…. chomp chomp.
